At Eighteen26, we believe in the enriching power of photos; a medium for people to capture the world’s beauty during their travels, indulge their passions and elicit their creativity.
We also believe that people’s best work deserves to be displayed in print, rather than archived into digital storage forever.
Our work at Eighteen26 is building a creative hub for photography lovers, where people can print their work in spellbinding quality, discover the works of other photographers, and find the resources and inspiration to develop their photography.
In 1826, French inventor Nicéphore Niépce created the first photograph, View from the Window at le Gras.
Depicting a view of his estate in Southern France, Niépce used a photographic process called heliography to capture the image on an alloy plate, the first time an image had been permanently preserved.
This marked the beginning of a new era in visual storytelling. The permanence of this event inspired the name ‘Eighteen26’. As technology evolves, digital files will be lost. Eighteen26 aims to bring photos to life, to be displayed and enjoyed by as many people as possible, in stunning print.
